Reading and Writing Addiction was able to catch up with E.L. Crenshaw, Author of “They Always Come in Three” for an interview. We are excited to share this interesting interview today with our readers.

RAWA: E.L., please tell us about your latest novel.

EL: It is an action packed novel with a quirky, but efficient main protagonist.

Author E.L. Crenshaw

The offers a mixture of thrills and suspense in extraordinary situations

RAWA:  Where did the idea come from to write this novel?

EL: With the recent air disasters and the disappearance of Malaysian flight MH 370 and listening to people who had been in near disasters situations

RAWA:  Give us an insight into your main character. Why is he/she such an important part of the story?

EL: DHS agent Michael Speed, an agent with peculiar personality quirks as the main protagonist, is a thorough, tenuous investigator, who has a tendency to bend the rules to solve a case.

RAWA:  Where does the story take place and why did you choose this setting for the novel?

EL: The story takes place in Washington State in the northwest, but extends to Sweetwater Texas, and Washington D.C. I am familiar with the locale having lived in and visited these locations over a 20 year period

RAWA:  What was the hardest thing about writing this novel?

EL: Developing the right characters to inter-act with each other and although fiction creating believable situations and locations

RAWA:  Is this book part of a series? If so, tell us a little about the series.  If not, would you consider creating a series from this novel and what are your thoughts on writing a series?

EL: I would like this to be at least a trilogy, if not a series. Whether I go in that direction will depend on the feedback I get from my readers

RAWA:  If this book were made into a movie which actors and actresses would you like to see playing the lead characters.

EL: I think I would like Terrence Howard to be the main protagonist: Michael Speed. Jonah Hill would be a good fit for His partner, Dave Cyrano. Ving Rhames could be Barry Dickerson, Deputy Chief of the Transportation Security Operations Center. Jennifer Garner, and Joseph Gordon Levitt, for the DHS agents who inter-act with speed and Cyrano

“They Always Come in Three” by E.L. Crenshaw is available at Amazon.com.
