In my book, Beautiful Like Me, Natasha is from Russia, her family has relocated to the United States, she very scared about making new friends and leaving her friends in Russia. She is very shy when she enters her new class 2nd grade class in the United States. I think that any child of every color and culture will be able to identify with Natasha. Also Natasha finds that all her fears and worries melt away when she meets and become best friends with 3 little girls of color, Janice, Tina and Maria. Together they discover their natural beauty in a way that only children can.
