Book Review: Brendon James Delivers Heart, Conflict, and High Stakes in Foes of Hope

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(5 Stars)From the first chapter, Brendon James pulls readers into a world filled with magic, danger, and deep personal struggle. Foes of Hope, the opening novel in the Adamas Chronicles, wastes no time setting emotional stakes that hit hard. The story begins with Pistis Arete wrestling with the pain of killing her closest friend, a…

Book Review: Think Like a Guru by Bar Bar Baba Ji – A Collective Exploration of Wisdom and Reflection

⭐⭐⭐⭐(4 Stars)At first glance, Think Like a Guru may surprise readers expecting a traditional nonfiction book. Digital Book Nook Magazine recently had the pleasure of chatting with Misty O’Hara, the talented author behind The Hundred Man Plan. In this exclusive Q&A, Misty shares the inspiration behind her story, her writing journey, and what readers can expect next.ders today.

When did you first discover that you enjoy writing and wanted to become a published author?

I started this book when my mom was diagnosed with ALS and passed away, I was hurt, angry and confused, so I told my husband I was going to sleep with 100 men. I decided that it would be better to just write a book about it. So I did.

What is your favorite and the most challenging aspect of writing?

My favorite part of writing is bringing characters to life in my head. When I finish a book, it is very satisfying. The most challenging part of writing is finding time. I work full time; have two men I like to spend time with and three kids. Life can get very busy.

Tell us about your latest release.

A funny, brave and subversive novel. A feminist riposte to centuries of men having all the fun. Ten years of a seemingly perfect marriage crumbles when an anonymous woman uncovers her husband’s affair. To add insult to injury, he blames his infidelity on her, calling her “frigid” and “a prude.” To prove she’s anything but, she embarks on a liberating sexual odyssey, embracing her desire and refusal to be defined by her ex-husband’s hurtful words. She, along with her already sexually liberated best friend, hatch the ultimate plan: to sleep with one hundred men. As she sets forth on this contemporary heroine’s journey, navigating the complexities of modern relationships and one-night stands, she begins to break free from the constraints of her past. Each encounter becomes a step towards reclaiming her identity and redefining her notions of love, intimacy and fulfillment.

How did you come up with the title of your book?

She actually sleeps with 100 men, so the title basically wrote itself

What do you hope readers are able to get from reading your story?

While I am aware my story is not going to save and change lives, I do hope it helps people escape their lives for a bit and live vicariously through someone who is out having a fantastic adventure with many men.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

I love…. Elin Hilderbrand Danielle Steel Sophie Kinsella Gabrielle Stone AND STEPHEN KING

Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?

OU HAVE TO LOVE YOUR BOOK MORE THAN ANYONE…IT IS YOUR BABY. (don’t let anyone call it ugly)

It’s such an awesome book! I was cheering and laughing out loud. She is such a talented writer, she is obviously a natural storyteller. I have found that reading it with your partner is the best way to consume this book. A chapter or two a night.
