Digital Book Nook recently caught up with Heather Sallee, author of “CEO From Home.” We are excited to share this insightful interview with our readers today.
When did you first discover that you enjoy writing and wanted to become a published author?
I have enjoyed writing since I was a young kid. I think it was around 2nd grade that I told everyone I was going to be a writer for a living.
What is your favorite and the most challenging aspect of writing?
I love telling a story, while my current book is nonfiction, it is meant to help those who read it. The most challenging aspects is dealing with writer’s block or simply craving out the time to write.
Tell us about your latest release.

“CEO From Home: Run A Successful Business On Your Own Terms” was released last year, but myself and my co-author began writing it right when the pandemic hit. It is essentially a guide to help those who want to start their own business, be their own boss, and find success in doing so.
How did you come up with the title of your book?
My co-author has started several businesses, I am currently the CEO of Salesboxer, so the CEO part kind of came naturally. Then we narrowed in on what we hoped readers would achieve, which is the information they need to start their own business.
What do you hope readers are able to get from reading your story?
I hope that readers get the motivation they may need to just do it — to start their own business and see the perks it can offer them. For those who have already started a business, I hope they are getting some tips on how to make it thrive.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
I love reading just about any author. I spend most of time reading on my Kindle from fiction authors like Janice Whiteaker, Cee Bowerman, and others.
Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?
I think my best advice would be to not give up. I know it can be disheartening when you talk to an agent or publisher who simply isn’t interested in your book. The way I look at it, you took the time to put word to paper, so don’t let all that hard work go down the drain.
