When did you first discover that you enjoy writing and wanted to become a published author?

It’s a pleasure to share my journey with you!
I first discovered my passion for writing in 2011, after overcoming the challenges of not learning how to read and write at a basic level until the age of nine. This late start ignited a strong desire within me to not only catch up but also to excel in the world of words. As I began to explore the written word and express my thoughts on paper, I found immense joy in the process of crafting stories and sharing my ideas with others. The idea of becoming a published author gradually grew on me as I realized the power of storytelling to inspire, motivate, and connect with people.

What is your favorite and the most challenging aspect of writing?

Writing is a transformative process that allows you to revisit memories, emotions, and lessons learned. My favorite aspect of writing is the catharsis it offers. It’s a way for me to process my experiences, both joyful and challenging, and distill them into a narrative that can resonate with readers. The most challenging part, however, is striking the balance between authenticity and relatability. Sharing personal stories requires vulnerability, and it can be difficult to find the right words to convey complex emotions and experiences in a way that resonates with readers.

Tell us about your latest release.

The latest release, in the multi-author book series I created in 2015 is A Journey of Riches “Discovering Your Purpose,” delves deep into the journey of overcoming my late start in learning to read and write. The book goes beyond the surface-level challenges and delves into the emotional struggles, self-doubt, and determination that marked each author’s path. It’s a memoir that explores not only the process of discovering your purpose but also the broader themes of resilience, self-discovery, and the transformative power of embracing one’s unique journey.

How did you come up with the title of your book?

The title “Discover your purpose” emerged from the metaphor of breaking through the mental blocks that once held me back from following my calling. The book encapsulates overcoming these blocks from 13 different perspectives. Each chapter is a representation of the various author’s growth and realization, about discovering your true calling.

What do you hope readers are able to get from reading your story?

Through ” A Journey of Riches – Discover Your Purpose” my ultimate hope is that readers are inspired to confront their own challenges, regardless of how insurmountable they may seem. I want them to recognize that it’s never too late to learn, grow, and achieve their dreams. The collective memoir is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to triumph over adversity and to turn obstacles into stepping stones. I hope readers find solace in the fact that we all have unique journeys that shape us and that our stories, no matter how unconventional, are worth sharing. If one of the stories shared encourages even one person to pursue their purpose with unwavering determination, I consider my mission fulfilled.

Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?

Certainly! For writers aspiring to get their memoir published, my advice would be to start by crafting a narrative that authentically reflects your experiences and emotions. Delve deep into your memories, capturing both the highs and lows of your journey.

As you polish your manuscript, seek feedback from trusted peers or writing groups to ensure your story resonates. Research literary agents and publishers who specialize in memoirs, tailoring your query letters to their preferences. Remember that rejection is part of the process, so maintain resilience and continue refining your work. 

Building an online presence and engaging with potential readers can also enhance your visibility. Stay true to your unique voice and story, and believe in the power of sharing your personal journey with the world. Have heart that I wasn’t able to get published so I created my own publishing house and have published close to 50 books in eight years now.
